32. Surf Marathon Engadin 2009: This means racing your ass off going back and forth the lake. There is a Windsurf and a kitesurf division.
ION internatinal team rider Dirk Hanel got another 1st place. Hanel finished the 42 km race distance which was 4 times back and forth over lake Silvaplana in first Position with an 8 minutes ahead of the winner from last year Patrick Koller.
Dirk managed to get 8th position in the full fleet of the Windsurfers and was only 6 min behind the best Windsurfer and closing the gap to them rapidly! It should get interesting in the next year as the Kite Race equipment is still evolving!
